The community project, carried out in <strong>Kibangu Sector<\/strong>, marks the official start of <strong>Rwanda\u2019s National Month of Volunteerism<\/strong>, which celebrates unity, resilience, and collective action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven houses are being built through community work (<em>Umuganda<\/em>), now reaching the roofing stage. Muhanga Mayor <strong>Kayitare Jacqueline<\/strong> praised the volunteers for their dedication, saying the initiative strengthens community bonds and supports Rwanda\u2019s vision of self-reliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe call on families to teach children the value of hard work. This month reminds us that working together and caring for others is the essence of true resilience,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The District Youth Volunteers Coordinator, <strong>Solange Kamanzi<\/strong>, said the campaign also includes educational outreach, road safety awareness under the <em>Gerayo Amahoro<\/em> initiative, and school attendance campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cRwandan youth today are inspired by the sacrifice of those who built peace and unity. We have no excuse not to contribute to our country\u2019s progress,\u201d Kamanzi added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Local authorities pledged continued support for vulnerable families, while beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the youth\u2019s compassion and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cTheir work gives us hope,\u201d one resident said. \u201cThey are proof that Rwanda\u2019s youth are truly the backbone of the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Muhanga District, Rwanda\u2019s youth are demonstrating the true spirit of volunteerism by building homes for families affected by recent natural disasters.
