{"id":186,"date":"2025-10-13T17:59:48","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T17:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/waramutse.icu\/?p=186"},"modified":"2025-10-13T17:59:50","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T17:59:50","slug":"president-kagame-appoints-col-rwagasana-sankara-and-viviane-mukakizima-to-new-senior-roles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/waramutse.icu\/?p=186","title":{"rendered":"President Kagame Appoints Col Rwagasana Sankara and Viviane Mukakizima to New Senior Roles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President <strong>Paul Kagame<\/strong> has appointed <strong>Col R\u00e9gis Rwagasana Sankara<\/strong> as the <strong>Deputy Director General in the Office of the President<\/strong>, and <strong>Viviane Mukakizima<\/strong> as the <strong>Deputy Director General in the Office of the Prime Minister<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The changes were announced in a statement released by the <strong>Office of the Prime Minister<\/strong> on <strong>October 10, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mukakizima had been serving as the <strong>Deputy Director General in the Office of the President<\/strong> since <strong>September 18, 2025<\/strong>, meaning she held that position for just over three weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is also the <strong>Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA)<\/strong>, and has vast experience in media and communications, having previously worked with <strong>Reuters<\/strong> and served in the <strong>Office of the President since 2012<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2021, she was appointed <strong>Director of Communications<\/strong> in the President\u2019s Office before becoming <strong>Deputy Chief of Staff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mukakizima holds a <strong>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Journalism<\/strong> from <strong>Daystar University<\/strong> and a <strong>Master\u2019s degree<\/strong> from the <strong>University of Warwick<\/strong> in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Col Rwagasana Sankara previously served as the <strong>Executive Office Security Liaison<\/strong> in the President\u2019s Office since 2021.
