KIGALI – Singer Philemon has described his debut on the BK Arena stage as a life-changing moment, made possible by artist and media personality Uncle Austin.

The January 1 concert, headlined by The Ben during his Plenty Love album launch, gave Philemon his first big-stage appearance since 2021. Ironically, the artist’s first visit to BK Arena had been as a spectator at a basketball game.

This time, however, he stood before thousands, performing Amasomo — the song that connected him to Uncle Austin and eventually to The Ben’s fans.

“I was thrilled and deeply encouraged. Performing at BK Arena placed a brick in my music journey and gave me the courage to plan bigger things,” Philemon said.
