Kigali, RwandaItorero Inganzo Ngari, one of Rwanda’s most celebrated cultural troupes, is set to host a grand concert dubbed “Tubarusha Inganji” in celebration of Umuganura Day, a national festival that honors harvests and achievements. The event will take place at Camp Kigali and marks the troupe’s 19th anniversary since its founding.

This cultural showcase is more than a performance—it’s a tribute to Rwanda’s progress over the past 31 years since its liberation by the Rwanda Patriotic Army (Inkotanyi).

Celebrating Culture and Development

The troupe’s director, Nahimana Serge, emphasized that the concert will celebrate Rwanda’s historical journey, its cultural identity, and the significant strides made in various sectors including education, agriculture, security, technology, unity, and reconciliation.

“Traditionally, Umuganura was about celebrating success in agriculture and livestock. Today, we also celebrate advancements in culture, technology, and national unity. We will reflect this on stage through traditional dances, music, and poetry,” he said.

Nahimana added that the performance will surpass all previous editions in terms of production quality, costumes, and stage delivery, promising attendees an unforgettable cultural experience.

Taking Rwandan Culture Beyond Borders

Icakanzu Contente, a member of Inganzo Ngari currently based in the United States, stated that the troupe is working on plans to expand internationally and bring Rwandan culture to the diaspora.

“We want to reach every Rwandan, whether in the country or abroad. Our goal is to expand our performances globally and touch the hearts of all Rwandans,” Contente said.
