Rwanda signed a new partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to expand digital skills training under the One Million Rwandan Coders program.

The initiative aims to close the gender gap in technology, empower women and girls, support SMEs, and create over 1.2 million jobs as part of Rwanda’s NST2 strategy.

MINICT emphasized that the agreement will boost capacity-building, expand opportunities for youth and persons with disabilities, and promote inclusive digital transformation.

The ILO praised Rwanda’s commitment to making technology a driver of both economic growth and social inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind in the country’s journey toward a sustainable digital economy.
