Paul Kagame has urged Africans to take full responsibility for solving the continent’s challenges, saying no foreign power can develop Africa better than Africans themselves.
He made the remarks during a high-level meeting that brought together African and French business leaders to discuss green industries and clean energy transformation.
President Kagame questioned the global inequalities affecting Africa but insisted that the continent’s future depends largely on the commitment of its people.
“No leader anywhere in the world, regardless of how powerful their country may be, will come to rescue Africa from its problems,” he said.
Kagame emphasized that sustainable development requires stronger cooperation between governments and the private sector. He noted that forums such as these should focus on finding practical solutions that can help Africa overcome economic and environmental challenges.
The discussions were held following the Africa Forward Summit, a major Africa-France partnership meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation in investment, sustainable industries, and clean energy initiatives.
