Kigali, Rwanda — August 22, 2025 — The NCBA Junior Golf Series will make its debut in Rwanda, bringing together 80 junior golfers aged 4–16 in a competition designed to encourage youth participation in the sport.

The event will be played in four categories, with some juniors competing on three holes while others challenge the full 18-hole course. The initiative follows similar tournaments in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, making Rwanda the newest addition to this fast-growing East African series.

Ambassador Bill Kayonga, President of the Rwanda Golf Association, stated: “Promoting golf among children is investing in the future of Rwandan sports. This series marks a key step in that journey.”

According to NCBA Bank Rwanda CEO Maurice Toroitich, junior golf instills values of discipline and self-confidence, preparing participants for future opportunities both on and off the course.

Organizers also highlighted the broader benefits for sports tourism, as Rwanda continues to position itself as a regional hub for international sporting events.
