Félix Tshisekedi reportedly exited Uganda before the conclusion of President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony, despite being among the distinguished guests attending the event.

Regional leaders present included presidents and representatives from Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Burundi, and Rwanda.

The moment became noticeable when Uganda’s Vice President, who was leading the guest recognition session, called Tshisekedi’s name while introducing visiting dignitaries. Officials then realized he had already left the venue.

“He has already gone,” the Vice President announced during the ceremony.

According to reports, Tshisekedi left early to attend an Africa-France summit in Nairobi involving Emmanuel Macron and African leaders.

His departure meant he did not participate in the final stage of the inauguration where other heads of state personally congratulated President Museveni.
