Women-led businesses from Rwanda and Mauritius are set to gather in Kigali for the “SheTrades Hub-to-Hub Collaboration Mission,” a three-day business event aimed at strengthening trade partnerships and expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs across Africa.

The event will take place from May 18 to 20, 2026, and will bring together companies operating in sectors including manufacturing, ICT, healthcare, beauty, tourism, and agro-processing.

The initiative is organized by Economic Development Board Mauritius in partnership with Private Sector Federation through the SheTrades Rwanda Hub. Around 18 women-led companies from Mauritius are expected to participate.

Organizers say the mission aims to strengthen business cooperation between women entrepreneurs, deepen collaboration among African SheTrades Hubs, and support cross-border trade networks for women-owned businesses.

Nirmala Jeetah said the visit reflects Mauritius’ commitment to helping women entrepreneurs expand beyond local markets and build long-term partnerships across Africa.

“Rwanda presents strong opportunities in innovation, investment, and trade,” she said.

Thérèse Sekamana added that the partnership will help women-led businesses access new markets through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The event highlights the growing economic relationship between Rwanda and Mauritius, particularly in trade, finance, aviation, tourism, and technology.
